Drink More Water!

Drinking lots of water can have many health benefits to a person. While it has many health benefits, drinking lots of water throughout your day can also help with mental health. In a study done in 2018, over 3,000 adults who drank more water had a lower risk of anxiety and depression compared to people who did not drink as much water. Also, drinking more water can lighten up someone\’s mood, making them feel generally happier, and motivating them to want to be more active, also making their mental health better. It’s also known that if you’re dehydrated, you’re more stressed.

If kids and teenagers continue to drink more water, they will be feeling better mentally, and even physically. It is recommended to drink around six to eight cups of water a day as a teenager. Some teenagers might not want to drink that much water, if they are not feeling great or just don’t like it, but there are ways that could help teens get to drink enough water a day. Infusing water with fresh fruit could help teenagers want to drink it more, since it has more of a flavor. Or, flavored packets for water could be used, and those could help these teenagers who don’t drink enough water to find a flavor they like and drink that.

Another easy way to help teenagers make sure they are drinking enough water are water tracking apps on their phones. Having to remember logging how much water they are drinking can help them motivate themselves to continue to drink more to reach their goal. These apps also remind you to make sure you are drinking water throughout the day. Overall, drinking enough water will help increase your mental health and make you feel better physically. It is also very good for your health, having many health benefits.
